Cl4 have had another varied and interesting week. In addition to a new writing project (setting descriptions linked to human impacts on different environments), we have started looking at the circulatory system and attempted a ‘Summercourt ordnance survey map creation challenge’.

Cl3 have had a busy week. In English, we have started to explore a new book, ‘Krindlekrax’ and enjoyed taking part in various drama activities to help us understand the characters’ thoughts and emotions. In dance, we continued to work on our mining inspired dance choreography.

In Cl1 this week, we have been revising Set 1 sounds and practising our blending skills for reading and writing short words. In JIGSAW we have thought about how our homes are similar and different from others'. What a busy week!

Well done to these children in KS2 who have braved the elements every Thursday after school to take part in cross country club. Mrs Wykes has been super impressed with your dedication, attitude and commitment. The last session of cross country club will be Thursday 9th December.

In Class 2 this week, year 1 children have learnt to add by counting on a number line and year 2 children have learnt to add 2 numbers by making multiples of 10 first. Excellent maths learning this week.

Cl3 have had a week packed with fun activities! We have been examining the rock cycle and completed a fun practical where we used crayons to represent the rocks. We also participated in the first of 2 dance workshops where we are creating a dance based on Cornish mining.

CL4 are enjoying a fun and hands-on week - we have further developed our style of Rousseau painting and have attempted to recreate underwater scenes. We really enjoyed visiting the Newquay Forest School who tailored their activities and groups towards our class project.
